WISH LIST: Eyeko Goodies!

I've always wanted to try Eyeko products but I don't really know where to buy them other than the website- which for me is a hassle to buy online. This post is going to be some items which I've heard a lot of great things about and other items which have simply caught my eye.

Eyeko is famous for their Graffiti eye liner pens, so I definitely want to try this out. Only £5.50!

Next on my wish list would be this Eyeko Cream, 3 in 1 cream, high light, eye cream and moisturiser! £8.95 sounds like a good deal to me- this tub would last me a long time.
I also want to try the Tinted Cream, I think it would make a great base for make up, or a gorgeous highlight!
Finally I want to buy the famous 'Fat Balm' in Raspberry! I've been looking for a cream blusher and this seems like a good quality, cheap alternative to a high end brand such as MAC. £6.50 for a cream blusher which you can use on your lips too is a steal!
I've heard great things about these, and I'm sure I'll love it, I might even buy one of the sets!
This set of Fat Balms are a really good price so I might want to pick on of these up too! £13!

Have you tried Eyeko? What's your favourite product/ what would you like to try?

COLLECTION PICKS: Mac Collection - Latest Greatest Accessories

This isn't really a Collection Picks post as I haven't really selected any top picks but it's still a collection I 'picked' to post about so I've decided to keep it with the cute title.

I'm sure you're all aware of this mac collection.. if not click here to take a look before reading my post. I feel like Mac have just jumped on the 'beauty blender' sponge band wagon which created a massive hype in America. I've never tried the Beauty Blender sponge as it's more an American thing but in the USA I know cheaper drug store dupes of it were flying off the shelves, as who can justify spending £14.50 on a sponge? As this is a newish thing to the UK there aren't any exact Beauty Blender dupes to get hold of, unless you search online for cheaper alternatives.

So Mac have brought out their own 'unique' and over priced sponges- did I mention they were hot pink, and other beauty tools.

The first is the All Blending Sponge- basically a flat oval foundation sponge. I'm not going to lie and say sponges are horrible (I don't particularly like using them myself) but I do know that they can help you achieve that real flawless foundation look. The sponge retails for £4.50, buying this wont break the bank but I still think there's nothing this sponge can do that one from Boots can't? Boots Premium Cosmetic Sponge retailing for £2.55!

The next sponge is the Duo Sided Sponge- the same sponge as the one above! However this one has a 'white flocked side' (whatever that means) meaning that you can use this for powders and powder foundations. This retails again for £4.50, I managed to find you a dupe from E.L.F called 2 In One Sponge- as E.L.F puts it: the fuzzy side delivers a soft natural look and the other flat side creates a full-coverage effect. This sponge is £3.50 so unfortunately not a massive saving.

The one sponge I would want to recommend is the Pro Performance Sponge- this is similar to the Beauty Blender sponge however MAC has cleverly altered the design but it's basically a rounded sponge at one and the other is pointed- more cone like. This is £14.50, and I couldn't find a dupe anywhere for British buyers but I would look online for Beauty Blender sponges reduced. But I'm sure it will only be a matter of time till Boots and Superdrug bring out their more affordable versions of the sponge. I haven't tried the sponge and to be honest I don't know how much a sponge could make a dramatic difference to your foundation. For now hold off spending £15 on a hot pink sponge!

Please let me know if you have tried the sponge and whether you would recommend it!

Finally the Duo-Sided Sharpener is way too overpriced at £4, one from Boots is half the price... as for the crazy mini eye lash curlers you wouldn't see me spending £11.50 on them when I could buy an eye shadow or lipstick (nearly) from MAC! It sounds like a stupid concept to me... half and eye lash curler?

Mac says: A demi-version of the M·A·C Lash Curler. Designed to lift and curl the shorter, more inaccessible lashes at the inner corner of the eye.

COLLECTION PICKS: NARS Summer Collection 2011

I've decided to start a series where I make these posts showing my top picks from make up collections! As we all know, for those of us (me) who are avid beauty girls, trying to keep on top of make up collections can be hard, there are so many new ones being released from so many  different brands- it gets confusing and overwhelming. So I thought I would save you the hassle and make short(ish) posts about the latest ones!

NARS: SUMMER COLLECTION 2011
NARS describes this collection as 'Edgy and evocative', personally to me the collection looks very 'nature like' if that makes any sense, the colours are blue, green and light, pinky corals.

My favourites from the collection are:
Dogon Duo Eye shadow £23.50
This is a new NARS duo eye shadow in the colour Dogon, this looks like a must have to me, really wearable colours, a metallic taupe (with icy green sheen) and charcoal black, an easy summer eye look, the taupe all over the lid and a tiny bit of black in the crease and outer lid, you could easily add more black for a dramatic night look.

Bolero Velvet Matte Lip Pencil £17.50
I'm also loving this Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the shade Bolero, this is a pink coral colour and very 'in' for spring/summer! I really want to get my hands on this item, I think this would make a perfect coral lip!

New Order Highlighting Blush £20.50
Finally, this Highlighting Blush called New Order, it's a soft pink shade with gold and silver shimmer. I've seen swatches and it looks stunning, if you prefer a more natural high light rather than using a scary sparkling white I would definitely snap this one up.

Thanks for reading.. Do you like my picks from the collection?

Review: Stila Sheer Color SPF15 (Tinted Moisturiser)

Another review from me...
A little background before I go straight into the pros and cons of this product:
Firstly I bought this tinted moisturiser on a whim, I had heard great things about the brand Stila so I was expecting a high quality product. In England Stila is really hard to get hold of so when I found this product reduced in my local TK Maxx I was beside myself with excitement (if you want to get hold of some really reduced Stila cosmetics regularly check your TK Maxx) and luckily they had my shade and I immediately  bought if for around £6. I haven't tried many tinted moisturisers but I have read countless reviews on how great most of them are. I have combination skin and am acne prone so some one like me would usually opt for a fuller coverage foundation, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy this beauty. However my skin has cleared up a lot recently and has even become even a little dry- so I have been substituting this product instead of foundation for a while now.

Okay enough background nonsense and onto the actual product and details...
This Stila Tinted Moisturiser retails for $34 but is currently on the Stila website reduced to $17- however this does not help my British readers, Stila isn't really sold in the UK so buying it online is the easiest option (instead of hunting around the shops) but do be careful as there are some websites selling is for £30 and others for £12 so search around and make sure you are getting the best deal- I haven't heard of Stila fakes but I'm sure on Ebay they are out there, so be wary.

The bottle contains 50ml or 1.7fl oz of product which is an amazing deal as most foundations are only 30ml. The tinted moisturiser comes in 9 shades which impressed me straight off, and I also really like the feel of the packaging, the plastic is really sturdy and 'heavy' meaning it doesn't feel cheap, I like the fact it's in a tube because you can easily control how much product you want to squeeze out.

However the actual moisturiser I wouldn't describe as light feeling on the skin which wasn't what I was expecting, it does feel like you're wearing some sort of light coverage foundation, the consistency of the product however is really nice, its smooth but a little a thick (maybe a little too thick for some people), it leaves a gorgeous dewy finish on the skin- so not for those girls who like the 'matte look', I apply it with my fingers as this is the easiest way to blend the product because at first its a little hard to blend, but once warmed on you fingers it's fine.

The coverage is of course... sheer, so don't expect it to cover your blemishes, but it's great for evening out skin tone and covering light acne scaring -if you have any like me. To cover dark circles, spots and and imperfections you will need a concealer.

As for longevity I think it lasts around half a day but it's so sheer that you can't really tell if its patchy or rubbing of by the end of the night- so if that's a good or bad thing you can decide.
Oh and it's SPF 15 which is always a bonus.

I think I've covered literally everything I could say about this product... I would recommend it for dry skin types (there is an oil free version available), perfect for summer as it's light and wont slide off your face in the heat. I also wouldn't recommend it for substituting your actual  daily moisturiser as I don't think it contains all the vitamins and other skin beneficial products that a normal moisturiser would contain.

Thanks for reading everyone.. I would give this Stila product a go if you're new to tinted moisturisers and don't want to shell £30 for a high end one. If your still on the fence about this product it did win the Best of Sephora beauty awards!

Buy the product here for UK buyers, originally £21.56 now £4.50!

P.S if you were wondering I'm shade Bronze.

Review: Big Beautiful Eyes by Benefit

Big Beautiful Eyes Kit by Benefit
For obvious reasons I love Benefit and when they brought out this palette I knew it was something that I would want to purchase at some point. This kit has been out for years but I only purchased it last summer as previously I wasn't really interested in eye shadows. This is kit is currently £24.50 which I think is a reasonable price because you get 3 really wearable  eye shadow colours, one concealer, 3 brushes (one is double sided), a mirror and instructions which is handy if your're a newbie to make up.

The three colours are really gorgeous, the pink is shimmery and warmed toned just like the second which is a more brown pink colour, this is really pretty for darkening up the crease.
The last colour is a dark, matte brown, similar to Espresso by Mac, you can use this on the lash line or add to the outer corner of your lid for more 'drama'.

As for the concealer- I hate it. It's too light for my skin tone, it's Benefits Bo-ing concealer in Medium so I guess it would fit most skin tones but it's not even the colour which makes me hate it, it dried out really quickly and when I used it on a friend it left a  weird powdery finish and barely covered the dark circles. This is one major flaw in the product.

One bad thing about the shadows is that they aren't very long lasting, so I suggest using a primer or a cream base underneath (you could use the concealer from the palette if you didn't have anything). Despite what I just said about the eye shadows I still really love them the shadows are all really 'pretty' colours and are universally flattering on all skin tones and eye colours, they are also great neutral, every day colours. They also blend really well, and I've been using this kit for a very long time and none of the colours have 'hit pan' yet, which I think is really impressive seeing as it doesn't seem to look like the pans contain a lot of product.

Top To Bottom: Concealer Bo-ing in Medium, Shimmery Pink, Brown/Gold toned Pink, Matte Dark Brown

Finally drawing this post to a close, I do really love this kit despite the flaws I picked at. This makes a great gift for a friend as you can be sure that the colours would suit them, and it's also great if you want to get an every day eye look but don't want to buy 3 individual eye shadows. I particularly love bringing this kit on holiday or if I'm travelling as it's really small and contains all the eye shadows and brushes I would need to quickly create a pretty eye look, plus it has a mirror!

Thanks for reading- and what do you think about the kit, have you bought it? Would you buy it now after reading my post?

P.S - the brushes are really handy and I think really good quality seeing as they are only mini versions.
